Our Values

Tru is committed to fostering and maintaining a safe space for all its staff and students.

Integrity & Honesty

We uphold integrity by following through on our commitments and living the values of Yoga in everything we do. We believe in teaching from a place of authenticity, staying within our abilities and being honest about our limitations. When mistakes happen, we take responsibility and aim to grow from them.

Accessibility & Inclusion

We are committed to creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and respected. We avoid using language or imagery that might exclude or alienate anyone, making sure our space is open to all.

Mutual Care & Respect

We honor the inherent worth, dignity, and autonomy of each person. By maintaining clear and healthy boundaries, we foster a supportive community. We encourage one another, striving for improvement and offering grace, especially during moments of disagreement or conflict. We respect beliefs and experiences that are different from our own.

Antiracism

We are dedicated to actively confronting racism in all its forms, both within ourselves and in our community. This means consistently raising awareness, challenging harmful attitudes and actions, and taking a clear stand against injustice wherever it appears.

Diversity

Our team is vibrant and diverse, made up of practitioners, teachers, and desk staff from all different backgrounds and experiences. This diversity enriches the culture of our studio and keeps our community dynamic.

Trauma Aware

We prioritize creating an environment where students feel secure. We work to prevent re-traumatization and practice emotional intelligence. We respect personal boundaries, and always ask for explicit consent before touching or photographing students.

Cultural Sensitivity

We deeply respect the ancient traditions of Yoga, and work to honor its origins in everything we do. Our goal is to stay true to the wisdom behind our lineage, while thoughtfully incorporating modern insights. We are committed to practicing in a way that is both respectful and relevant.

Generosity of Spirit

We recognize that everyone comes to their Yoga practice with different experiences and perspectives. When disagreements arise between allies, we assume good intentions and work toward a respectful, compassionate resolution.
